10 Uses For Bicarbonate Of soda When Cleaning.

Bicarbonate Of Soda can be used for so much more than just baking. When it comes to cleaning it seems the possibilities are endless, there are so many great cleaning results from using Bicarbonate of soda here are a list of 10 things i use bicarb for when cleaning.


  1. Deodorise drains add 1/2 cup of bicarb down the drain with 1 cup of white vinegar, after it stops fizzing rinse down with kettle boiled water.. tadah🙂
  2. Carpet freshener Sprinkle over the carpet and rub in to eliminate any odours, hoover after 20 minutes and your carpet will be fresh!
  3. Coffee and tea mug stain remover Mix a table spoon of bicarbonate of soda and a drop of bleach and scrub around coffee stained mugs
  4. Oven door cleaner Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda over the door and spray white vinegar and wipe all grime away for a clean oven door.
  5. Laundry whitener Add a table spoon to the washer draw on a whites wash to help prevent greying and keeps whites white.
  6. Teeth whitener/ stain remover Make a mixture with toothpaste and bicarbonate of soda and brush teeth as normal, repeat once a week for 4 weeks to remove stains.
  7. Washing machine cleaner Add 1/2 cup of bicarbonate of soda to the washer draw and add a cup of white vinegar to the drum and run a 90 degree wash to clean through the washing machine of grime and lime scale.
  8. Towel conditioner Add a table spoon to the washer draw with detergent on a towels wash to get towels fluffy again.
  9. Chopping board cleaner with lemon Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda over the chopping board and take half a lemon and scrub the board with the lemon and rinse for an antibacterial chopping board deep cleaner.
  10. Mattress cleaner Sprinkle bicarbonate of soda over the mattress, rub it in and leave to sit for 30 minutes before hoovering. The bicarbonate will soak up any damp sweat and clean it deep into the mattress.
